The quick answer is “No.” In Florida, if you are injured in a car crash, your automobile insurance company will be the primary payer of any medical bills you incur related to your car accident — up to $10,000.00. This coverage is called Personal Injury Protection coverage (also called “PIP” or “No Fault”).
In Florida, most Personal Injury Protection insurance will pay 80% of any doctor bills you incur, provided that the medical service was related to your automobile accident, reasonable, and necessary.
